75 years of Adoption of the Constitution of India celebrated at GDC Sidhra

Jammu, 15 February 2025 | The Electoral Literacy Club in collaboration with the NSS unit of GDC Sidhra organized the “reading of Preamble” as a series of events to celebrate 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution of India.

All the faculty members and the students including NSS volunteers recited the Preamble. They remembered the various objectives of the Preamble including Sovereignty, Secularism Democracy, Socialism Republic, Equality, Liberty, and Fraternity.

The Preamble is an introduction to our Indian constitution and contains the key points that provide us with a better understanding of the Indian Constitution. Not just this, in case of ambiguity to understand any article the Preamble gives a better and easier explanation.

The Preamble is a way to be aware of fundamental rights and raise their voice if they feel that one of their rights has been violated by someone else. This is where the importance of the objectives of the Preamble comes into play.

The whole event was well organized by Dr. Meesha Bhagat, Convener of the electoral literacy club, and Dr. Purvaiya Hans, NSS Programme officer, with their teams under the able guidance of Dr. GS Rakwal, Principal of GDC Sidhra.
