Jammu/Katra, 31 August 2024 | NSS unit of SMVDU Katra organized a food preparation event at the government primary school in Sirah village. The event was organized to engage volunteers to work in a team and bond with school students. NSS volunteers reached the school with all the raw materials and other equipment required for food preparation.
Volunteers worked in different groups to prepare various food items. Volunteers prepared food items such as mixed vegetables, poori, boondi raita, and halwa on the school premises. Afterward, Volunteers served the food to the school students and teachers. School students were very happy after having the special meal of the day. NSS volunteers regularly organize different events in all nearby Govt. Schools.
NSS volunteer Sadhvi Sharma coordinated the whole event with other volunteers. NSS coordinator, Dr. Rajiv Kumar and staff member Mr. Avdhesh Gupta were also present during the event. School in charge Mrs. Monika thanked the NSS SMVDU team for organizing the event in the school. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers and emphasized organizing more such events in other schools also.
