Jammu, 21 February 2025 | The NSS Unit of GDC Sidhra organized a massive cleanliness drive on the college campus, aiming to instill cleanliness as a natural habit and a core societal value among all citizens. With the aim of engaging with local communities and fostering public participation and responsibility, NSS volunteers, along with NSS Program Officer Dr. Purvaiya Hans and other faculty members, organized the drive.
Dr. G S Rakwal, Principal of the college briefed the students about the importance of imbibing the principles of Cleanliness and sanitation in our lives. He urged the students to keep their surroundings clean for healthy life and asked them to spread message of cleanliness amongst their families and communities.
Moreover, he appreciated the efforts of the volunteers and remarked that Cleanliness and sanitation are an integral part of a healthy way of life. Cleanliness ensures the well-being of our citizens, thereby lessening the burden on healthcare systems, and contributes significantly to environmental sustainability. The event was organized by Dr. Purvaiya Hans, NSS Program Officer under the able guidance of the Principal of the College, Dr. G.S Rakwal. Dr. Harpreet Kour, Dr. Mussarat Chowdhary, Prof. Shonima Malhotra, Dr. Anu Sharma, Prof. Pooja Sharma, Mr. Deepak Kumar, and others were present during the event.
