New Delhi, 07 September 2024 | Relief Organization, J&K as a part of a series of SVEEP activities, being organized under the guidance of Dr Arvind Karwani, Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), J&K, and other officers of the Relief Organization associated with the Assembly Elections-2024, organized Nukad Nataks during the week at various Migrant Camps here.
The Migrant camps where Nukkad Nataks were organized on the topic “Elections – the pivot of democracy” include Jagti, Nagrota, Purkhoo, and Muthi.
The camp inmates participated in large numbers with great enthusiasm. Senior citizens present there highlighted the importance of voting and appealed to all especially the first-time young voters to cast their vote in the interest of a vibrant democracy.
It was emphasized that casting a vote is not just a fundamental right but also a duty toward building a stronger democracy.
It was propagated that everyone participates in the festival of democracy by casting his/her vote to elect the right representatives of choice, who can plead their cause in the Assembly.
The Relief Organization as part of SVEEP activities is organizing symposiums and poster competitions in migrant schools in the camp areas, besides rallies, tree plantation drives, and nukkad nataks, etc to promote voter awareness and literacy.
Various doubts and queries of the voters are addressed on the spot by the election team. Pertinent to mention that as per the notified scheme for migrants, every migrant has the option to cast a vote in person at the special polling stations as a “specified voter” or to cast a vote through a postal ballot as a “notified voter”.
