Jammu, 23 November 2024 | 2 J&K BN NCC, Jammu, holds blood donation drives across three districts on the eve of NCC Raising Day.
To commemorate the 76th NCC Day, the 2 J&K Battalion National Cadet Corps (NCC) organized successful blood donation camps in Jammu, Udhampur, and Reasi. These camps, held in collaboration with various local organizations, witnessed an overwhelming response from NCC cadets, students, and staff who generously participated to support the noble cause of saving lives through blood donation.
The camps, which were set up on the eve of the 76th NCC Raising Day, aimed to raise awareness about the critical need for blood donations while contributing to local healthcare needs. With the help of medical professionals, including Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Principal of Government Medical College, Jammu, and Dr. Meena Sidhu, Head of the Department of Blood Transfusion Medicine, Jammu, the event successfully garnered a positive impact across all three districts.
Support was also provided by the Red Cross Society, Jammu, and the J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society, who played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the camps. As a result of the efforts, a total of 129 units of blood were collected, showcasing the generosity and strong community spirit of the donors. This initiative reflects the core values of the NCC, highlighting its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community service. The efforts of the 2 J&K BN NCC not only supported those in need of blood but also emphasized the importance of collective action for the betterment of society.
