Jammu | Social activist Tarun Uppal on Saturday lauded the Supreme Court for delivering a historic judgement on Ayodhya case and said people should follow the legacy of Lord Ram by spreading the message of love.
“The Apex Court through this verdict has increased the prestige of the country’s judicial system across the globe. We countrymen should also follow the legacy of Lord Ram by spreading the message of mutual love and create an environment to enhance the honour of the country in the world,” he added. He asserted that everyone should respect the law and no celebrations should be held which would hurt the sentiments of anyone.
The Supreme Court in a unanimous judgement on Saturday cleared the way for the construction of a Ram Temple at the disputed site at Ayodhya and directed the Centre to allot a 5-acre plot to the Sunni Waqf Board for building a mosque.
Uppal appealed for peace and harmony in the wake of the Supreme Court verdict and also underlined the need to strengthen brotherhood among various communities. “We should all accept the unanimous SC decision on Shri Ram Janmabhoomi and collectively work towards strengthening brotherhood amongst the communities,” he said. He also called for maintaining peace and harmony.
“All parties concerned and all communities should abide by the secular values and spirit of the fraternity enshrined in our Constitution and should maintain peace and harmony,” Uppal asserted.
