Shah should fulfil commitment assured in Parliament: Shaheen

Jammu, December 05: Reminding Union Home Minister, Amit Shah over his commitment to return statehood of Jammu and Kashmir State, Janta Dal (United) JD (U) Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory President, G.M. Shaheen urged upon the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to return Statehood ship of Jammu and Kashmir State as assured by the Central government on the floor of House of Rajya Sabha on August 5, 2019 when BJP government abrogate Article 370 and Article 35A from Jammu and Kashmir State.

G.M. Shaheen while addressing the press conference along with Gen Sec JDU Mukesh Gupta, Sec Mohd Shaffi Rahul Dora women president Sarla Kotwal. at its party headquarters Air Lines Complex near Abhinav Theater, Jewel Jammu said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah should fulfil his commitment assured in the Parliament when BJP abrogate Article 370 and 35A include bifurcation the Jammu and Kashmir State into two Union Territories on August 5, 2019. He added that JD (U) will not participate in upcoming due elections in Jammu and Kashmir till return back statehood-ship to Jammu and Kashmir State.

Referring to developmental work after establishment of UTs in Jammu and Kashmir, Shaheen alleged that nothing was done on the ground as far as development of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory is concerned as most of the bureaucrats holding 2 to 3 departments are sitting in their offices and left the development work and other concerned issues of the people on the mercy of the God that has been observed after post abrogation of Article 370 and 35 A. He added that people of the Jammu and Kashmir are still deprived of their fundamental rights as far as their day to day problems and issues including drinking water supply and other related aspirations are concerned.

He criticized that BJP leadership who wanted to grab overall power and remained in the country by hook or crook by playing dirty politics so that the other national parties should close their political affiliations and activities from the whole nation. “Such kind of dirty politics being played by the BJP is not tolerable and they should away from these dirty politics which is not good for the people of the nation,” he added.

He further urged upon the Lt. Governor Girish Chander Murmu to visit people on the ground personally to ascertain the real and most important issues of the people being faced by them which are not addressed and resolved by the bureaucrats who are unable to reach the people having the burden of other departments being assigned to them.
