Jammu, November 11: Catering with the needs of locals especially youth and senior citizens, Former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West started construction works for a new library and Store at Maharaja Hari Singh Park, Extension New Karan Nagar, Ward 9 and dedicated it to the students, locals and senior citizens across Jammu West Assembly segment and other areas. Sharma was also accompanied by Corporator Ward 9 Suneet Raina, Mandal President BJP Raveesh Mengi, local residents including many youth and political activists of the area.
The works are being done under the supervision of JMC and funds to the tune of Rupees 8.37 lakhs were also sanctioned from the CDF (Constituency Development Fund) scheme of Former MLA which was given during his tenure and its work was delayed due to code of conduct of elections and other reasons, but the work was taken up as soon as the process got cleared.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that there was a dire need of construction of a library for youngsters as there was no similar place in the Ward and other adjoining wards where students could come and study. He said that on the demand of locals and many youngsters, the funds were sanctioned for the same so that a proper place could be built where many students who study for various courses or competitive exams can come and prepare for their respective streams and for senior citizens of the Ward as well who could come and read literature, newspapers, etc in their leisure time.
He also stated that such places are the need of society as these are the places which prepare our future generations to work for the betterment of society. He also appealed masses to promote the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of building a “Clean and Green India” and asked everyone to contribute some of their time every day to maintain the cleanliness of the park.
Suneet Raina appreciated the efforts of Former MLA and stated that with a vision to work for the overall welfare of the society, our Former MLA is still working 24*7 and is always seen in public which shows that every activist of BJP believes on the agenda of “Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas”. He also stated that many developmental works in the ward are being done on the recommendations of Former MLA and said that Ward 9 has witnessed a major development in the past years which has made it the cleanest ward of Jammu city.
Sanjeev Sharma, Harish Gupta, Master Jagan Nath Sharma, Rajesh Verma, Vinod Wazir, Munish Sharma, Rakesh Sethi, Vikram Singh Jamwal, Varinder Baloria, Jaipal Singh Manhas, Shanker Soni, Harish Kumar Puri and several others were also present.
