Jammu, November 26 | As part of the celebration of National Law Day or Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas), a pledge ceremony to uphold and abide by the Constitution in true spirit was held in the office of Advocate General, here.
Advocate General, DC Raina, Senior Additional Advocates General, Seema Khajuria and HA Siddiqui, Additional Advocates General, Deputy Advocates General, Government Advocates, Assisting Counsels and the officers/ officials of Advocate General’s office participated in the pledge ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion Advocate General, DC Raina, said that the Constitution symbolises the unity and integrity of our country in a true manner. He further said it is because of the supremacy of the Constitution that our country has withstood all the challenges and standing much stronger today. He further said that the rich composite culture and diversity of our nation is celebrated through this supreme law of the land.
Senior AAG, Seema Khajuria, while speaking on the occasion said that the birth of Indian nation was followed by the enactment of the Constitution for protection of the fundamental rights of all the citizens.
Addressing the gathering, Senior AAG HA Siddiqui, said that constitution gives us liberty, freedom of thought and expression while as it forms the basis of secular democracy.
Assisting Counsels, officer/ official of the Advocate General’s office also spoke on the occasion.
Later mass reading of the Preamble of the Constitution was held at 11:00 am to commemorate the adoption of Constitution celebrated every year as the Constitution Day/National Law Day.
