Jammu, November 19 | To aware about their burning issues, which they are facing since past more than two years, a delegation of NGOs (Non-Governmental organization) called on the newly appointed Director, State Social Welfare Board (SSWB) Bureeda Mazid here in Jammu.
Right after appointment as Director SSWB, Bureeda Mazid joined here office in Jammu after the Durbar move is working hard to settle out the issues, which are being faced by the NGOs, since a-long.
Pertinent to mention here that there are several NGOs, which has been registered with the SSWB, are running the crèches under National Creche Scheme. The NGOs, who are running the crèches since from a long time, are now facing many difficulties due to the non-release of funds.
The members of the delegation expressed serious concern over the long delay in releasing the dues, which are pending with the SSWB since a long, due to which the NGOs are facing it very difficult to run the Crèche Centres, which are allotted to them by the board.
“We are unable to give the salaries to our staff members, who are taking care of our Crèche Centres, even the traders, who are supplying the nutrition for the kids at our centres has warned us to stop the supplies, if we failed to settle their pending dues,” said Vikas Sharma, President, Parivartan NGO.
“We are running our crèche centres since from many years, but this is for the first time that we are facing such a situation, that it has become very difficult to run the affairs at our centres properly,” said Rajeev Pandita, another member of the delegation.
“There is no doubt that the officials of SSRB is cooperating fully with us and extending their full support in the smooth functioning of our centres, but in the absence of no funds, it is not possible for us to run our centres in future. So we appeal to the new Director to sort out our issue as earliest,” said Dr ML Sharma, a senior member of the delegation.
While interacting with the members of the delegation, Director, SSWB, Bureeda Mazid said, “I am fully aware with the situation arisen due to the non-release of funding to the NGOs, due to which they are suffering badly and it is very difficult for them to run their Creche Centres smoothly.”
She further assured the members of the delegation that she already is working hard over this issue and hopeful that something positive would come out earliest and the NGOs should continue to run their crèche centres without any problem.
