Jammu, January 29 | The Jammu University SC/ST Employees Association which held its meeting here appealed the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chander Murmu to disband the earlier advisory issued by the erstwhile State Government for blocking the promotional quota meant of reserved category employees in services, and order for filling the same with eligible category employees who have to wait for their promotions under the reserved category for a long-long time could occupy their next higher posts.
Adding further it maintained that the Hon’ble Supreme Court has since allowed the reservation in promotion and the Parliament too has passed the law to this effect.
The Association also urged the Vice-Chancellor Professor Manoj K. Dhar to kindly look into its Charter of Demands dated November 27, 2019, and take an early action to resolve its long-drawn burning issues enshrined therein.
Besides, the Association demanded adequate compensation for Rohika Heer who had to incur a huge academic loss on account of denial of admission to M.Ed. Regular Course under the Employees Ward Quota in the current academic session by the JU’s Post-graduate Department of Education.
