Jammu, February 17 | Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) in collaboration with Government College for Women (GCW), Parade on Monday organized a programme to felicitate son of the soil and a prominent litterateur from Udhampur Padam Shri Prof. Shiv Dutt Nirmohi and Viraj Kala Kendra Jammu, members.
It is pertinent to mention here that Prof. Nirmohi was adored with this prestigious award for his extraordinary achievements and excellent research on ‘culture and heritage of Duggar’ in the field of literature during Republic Day 2020 celebrations by Government of India, New Delhi and Viraj Kala Kendra Jammu won ‘Best Stage Play’ award for the play ‘Ek Panna Gumnaam’ at 6th Shahjahanpur Rang Mahotsav, which was organized in the memory of Shaheed Ashfaq-Ullah Khan, Ram Parsad Bismil and Thakur Roshan Singh at Gandhi Auditorium, Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh recently.
The programme was graced by Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta as the Chief Guest and Principal GCW Parade Dr. S.P Saraswat was the Guest of Honour.
Padam Shri Prof. Shiv Nirmohi has hundreds of publications in the form of books and research papers to his credit and has stayed on the panel of Experts for Dogri language in UPSC.
Earlier the felicitation programme began with the formal welcome address by Chairman JKFFA Ved Gandotra, who highlighted various attributes of the personality of Prof. Nirmohi.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Prof. Nirmohi has already been bestowed with many other awards and honours by various literary organizations and schools.
At 6th Shahjahanpur Rang Mahotsav, the ‘Best Playwright’ award was bagged by Rajneesh Kumar Gupta, while the ‘Best Male Actor’ award was clinched by Balwinder Singh for his role of Ashfaq-Ullah Khan and the 2nd best-supporting award was bagged by Janak Khajuria for his role of Riyasat Ullah Khan-elder brother of Ashfaq-Ullah Khan in the play.
The play was written and directed by Rajneesh Kumar Gupta was based on the life, history, ideals and struggle for freedom of freedom fighter Ashfaq-Ullah Khan. Hindu-Muslim unity was shown through the eternal friendship of Ashfaq-Ullah Khan and Ram Parsad Bismil.
The team included Madan Rangila, Janak Khajuria, Lalita, Tajasvi, Balwinder Singh, Vipan Gupta, Abhinav, Tarun Charak, Rishabh Manhas, Aafaq Khan and Harshdev Singh Slathia, Dr Kamal Kishore Sharma.
Besides the entire team of the play, Raj Bharti, President of Viraj Kala Kendra and principal GCW Parade Dr. S.P Saraswat were also felicitated.
