Jammu, February 26 | With a mission to make Jammu clean, Former Minister and Ex-MLA, Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) along with Former MLC Ramesh Arora and Coporator Ward 9, Suneet Raina started construction works of Deep Drains at Karan Nagar area of Jammu West Assembly segment. Sharma was also accompanied by Mandal President Raveesh Mengi, UEED (Urban Environmental Engineering Department) officials, local residents and political activists of the area. Pertinent to mention, it is a first step towards building a smart city and the deep drain which is being constructed is also first of its kind having all three sides filled with iron gratings and having concrete walls and slabs too.
The works are being done under the supervision of UEED at an estimated cost of Rupees 82 lakhs and streamlining works of Deep drains in Karan Nagar area will be done in order to provide a proper drainage system to thousands of inhabitants.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it was indeed a long pending demand as there was no proper drainage system in Karan Nagar and some time back the deputation led by local Corporator of the Ward met him and demanded a proper system of drainage in the area. So keeping in view the sentiments of the masses, the concerned department was asked to take up the necessary works in the area, he added. He stated that to achieve the vision led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi of building a Swach Bharat, an effort of every individual is must and he appealed to the inhabitants of the area as well to keep their surroundings neat and clean in order to build a clean aura around.
Ramesh Arora stated that the Central Government is committed to providing every possible infra to the people everywhere. He also appreciated the efforts of Former MLA and local Corporator for looking into the grievances of the public and solving them with a proactive approach.
Suneet Raina stated the developmental works done in the Constituency by Former MLA have satisfied lakhs of inhabitants and every basic amenity to next level infra has been provided to the locals in order to give every possible facility to the residents at their doorsteps.
Munish Sharma, Raghunandan Kumar, Kulbhushan Vohra, Radha Sharma, Kamini Gupta, Jyoti Bhat, Avinash Kour, Vineet Mahajan, Deepak, Neeraj Katoch, Madan Kumar and several others were also present.
