Srinagar, January 28 | District Legal Services Authority, Srinagar organized a program to celebrate National Youth Day.
The program was organized on the directions of the National Legal Services Authority of India (NALSA) and State Legal Services Authority (SALSA) Jammu &Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary District Legal Services Authority Srinagar, Adnan Syed said that the aim of organizing the program was to aware children about their rights and various government schemes for their welfare.
He said that the government provide free of cost legal services to the underage children 18 and because of lace awareness they are not able to avail the benefits. He also stressed for generating awareness about mental illness, its treatment and rehabilitation of such children.
The Secretary urged the youth to take inspiration from great thinkers of society and to channelize their talent in the right direction so that they can serve society.
On the occasion, various aspects of Child-Friendly Legal Service and Child Protection Scheme-2015 were also discussed.
The Secretary said that the day is celebrated on the birthday of world-renowned social reformer and philosopher, Swami Vivekananda.
