Kathua, November 11: To achieve the objective of National Nutrition Mission (NNM) and to give a push to the activities undertaken under POSHAN Maah, a capacity building programme was today organised to sensitize functionaries on the importance of the programme.
Deputy Commissioner, O P Bhagat was the chief guest on the occasion.
The ongoing capacity building, called ‘Incremental Learning Approach (ILA)’ will use opportunities in the form of existing supervisory interactions at different levels, through which practical and guided learning will be accomplished to create awareness to meet the goals of POSHAN Abhiyaan, DC said.
Underlining the features of incremental learning system, PO ICDS, Ghanshyam Singh said that currently the master trainers are sensitizing the CDPOs, Supervisors and other Health and Nutrition Mobilization staff so that different awareness activities shall be promoted in urban and rural areas with an effort to expand the outreach of health and nutritional services among slum dwellers and migratory population.
The activities shall be promoted with special focus on promoting water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) besides health and nutritional services to unserved areas.
The resource persons suggested the ways to spread awareness, through PP presentation on the care of pregnant women, lactating mothers and children through social rituals and help families to understand the importance of health and nutrition among family members.
