Jammu, December 23 | Bharatiya Janata Party, District Jammu under the leadership of Vinay Kumar Gupta, conducted a seminar on Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which saw the participation of many prominent social and intellect personalities from the city, at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
The seminar was addressed by former Dy. CM Dr. Nirmal Singh, former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta, State General Secretary Yudhvir Sethi, former MLA Rajesh Gupta, Chairman JMC Baldev Singh Billawaria, former MLC S. Charanjit Singh Khalsa and other senior leaders from state BJP.
Dr. Nirmal Singh, while addressing the seminar, attacked Congress, Left and several other parties, who are misleading the general public on the name of CAA and NRC. He alleged that Congress having sensed its downfall is hell-bent to promote hostility between various sections of society.
Kavinder Gupta threw light on the details of CAA and said that the Act focuses upon giving Citizenship to the minorities of neighbouring Nations, who are being persecuted there on the religious grounds and there is absolutely nothing in it that can take away Indian Citizenship from anybody on any ground.
Yudhvir Sethi, further said that the CAA is only for benefit of persecuted persons that came from neighbouring countries that too before December 2014. He stressed that this Act does not harm the interests of Indian Muslims in any way and the whole misinformation is being propagated by Congress and its allied parties.
Vinay Kumar Gupta thanked all the senior BJP leaders and the participants for contributing to the programme.
