Baramulla police arrests 04 miscreants involved in arson

Srinagar, December 03 | Police in Baramulla arrested 04 miscreants involved in arson and threatening of the locals in the area.

On November 24, 2019, Police Station Baramulla received information that some miscreants have set ablaze shops in Baramulla Market at three different locations due to which several shops including a shopping complex got damaged.

Consequently, upon receipt of information case, FIR No. 181/2019 under the relevant section of laws was registered at PS Baramulla and investigation into the matter was initiated.

During the course of an investigation, officers taking help of modern scientific and technological aids were able to identify the miscreants involved in this crime. Subsequently, police were able to track the accused and they were arrested.

Arrested persons have been identified as Mohd Maroof Saliah @ Aadil, Bilal Mehraj Bhat, Sameer Ahmad Shakroo residents of Kanlibagh Baramulla and Aadil Gaffar Sofi resident of Iqbal Colony Baramulla.

When the officers spoke to them they learnt about their involvement in the crime. Incriminating materials and other evidence recovered during the course of investigations have been seized and taken into case records for the purpose of investigations. Further investigation in the matter is in progress.

Community members have appreciated the police actions against the miscreants.

Police have resolved to act tough against such elements. Community members are requested to share details about such persons who are involved in criminal activities and other crimes.
