Awareness Programme for Disables organised at Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah, December 06 | To mark the International Day for Persons with Disability, an awareness programme was organized by District Legal Services Authority and Tehsil Legal Services Committee Bhaderwah in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department here. The theme for this year was “Promoting the Participation of Persons with Disabilities and their Leadership: taking action on the 2030 Development Agenda.”

The programme was held under the chairmanship of Chairman DLSA and Principal and District Sessions Judge Bhaderwah Ashok Kumar Shavan and was supervised by Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee (Sub Judge) Renu Dogra Gupta and Secretary DLSA Sushil Singh Rangela.

Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Majid Malik highlighted constitutional rights for the empowerment of PwDs and other backward classes of the society. He said that this day is celebrated to help everyone become more compassionate and understanding of the challenges faced by people with disabilities. We all need to ensure that all people have equal opportunities for education, work, health, and success and as teachers, we shoulder this responsibility. Social Welfare Officer Subash and president Handicapped Welfare Association Farooq Thug also spoke on the occasion and informed about the various schemes launched by the government of India.
