Ganderbal, February 08 | As a part of its public reach out programme, Ganderbal Police organized a PCPG meeting at Police Station Safapora. The meeting was chaired by SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmed Poswal-JKPS.
The meeting was attended by the respectable citizens of Safapora besides, President Traders’ Federation, President Transporters Association, social workers and youth of area also participated in the meeting.
The meeting was held to facilitate interaction with people and redress their grievances so as to create a cordial police-public relationship.
During the meeting, various social issues like drug menace and other grievances were raised by the participants. Participants were assured by the chairing officers that their genuine grievances pertaining to police will be redressed on priority. During the meeting, various other issues pertaining to the civil administration were also raised by the participants which have been conveyed to the respective departments.
While addressing the participants, SSP Ganderbal said that police is keen to ensure the welfare of the community members and will establish a youth club at Safapora. Career counselling programme for youth will also be facilitated so that youth can avail the best opportunities available to them. He added that drive against drug abuse will be intensified so this menace could be eradicated from the society.
Police have sought the cooperation of the community members in its action against the criminal elements and requested the participants to share information about the crimes occurring in their neighbourhood.
Community members hailed the efforts of police in facilitating community interaction meets where participants express their opinion freely. The participants also hailed the special drives of Police against bung cultivation, drug peddlers and action against persons involved in other social crimes.
